Brake Disc Removal and Installation

Removal

1. CAUTION: Do not allow the brake caliper to hang from the brake flexible hose. Use a suitable tool and support the brake caliper.

Remove and discard the 2 bolts and position the brake caliper and anchor plate assembly aside.
2. Remove and discard the brake disc screw.

3. NOTE: If the brake disc cannot be removed easily, apply penetrating and lock lubricant on the brake disc-to-hub mating surfaces.

Remove the brake disc.

Installation
1. Clean any rust or debris from brake disc and wheel hub.
^ Use brake parts cleaner to clean the front brake disc and hub surfaces.
2. Apply a thin coat of anti-seize lubricant to the hub flange.
3. Install the brake disc.
4. Install a new brake disc screw.
^ Tighten to 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.).
5. Position the brake caliper and brake caliper anchor plate assembly and install 2 new bolts.
^ Tighten to 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.).
