DOOR LATCH ISSUE IN FREEZING TEMPERATURES

FORD:
2005 Five Hundred, Freestyle

MERCURY:
2005 Montego

ISSUE
Some 2005 Freestyle, Five Hundred, and Montego vehicles may exhibit an intermittent door latch issue when the ambient temperature is below freezing. This condition may be due to water entry into the door latch assembly.

ACTION
Replace the latch on the affected door(s). Refer to Workshop Manual, Section 501-14 Front Door Latch for removal and installation instructions.
