Disassembly and Assembly
NOTE: If installing new bearings, new bearing races will need to be installed in the transaxle case.
Clean and inspect the differential bearings, if damage is indicated install new bearings.
Only install new bearings if old bearings indicate damage.
1. For All Wheel Drive (AWD) vehicles, use the special tools to remove the inner seal.
2. If installing a new bearing, cut the differential roller bearing cage in order to remove the cage and roller bearings.
3. If installing a new bearing, install the special tool.
4. NOTE: This bearing is on the ring gear side.
If installing a new bearing, use the special tools and remove the bearing.
5. NOTE: This bearing is on the case side.
If installing a new bearing, use the special tools and remove the bearing.
Assembly
1. If removed, use the special tools and install the bearing.
2. If removed, use the special tools and install the bearing.
3. For AWD vehicles, use the special tools to install the new seal.
