Sun and Shell Assembly Disassembly





Disassembly





1. Remove the front sun shell.





2. Remove the No. 11 needle bearing.





3. Remove the intermediate clutch hub.





4. Remove the No. 10 thrust bearing.





5. Remove the overdrive drum.





6. Remove the one-way clutch assembly.
1 Remove the one-way clutch assembly.
2 Remove the top cap.
3 Remove the one-way clutch.
4 Remove the bottom cap.

Assembly





1. NOTE: The one-way clutch assembly must be assembled in a specific order.

Assemble the one-way clutch.
1 The lower cap lip must face up.
2 The low one-way clutch outer race groove must face up.
3 The low one-way clutch shoulder must face UP.
4 The upper cap lip must face down.





2. CAUTION: The outer race must rotate counterclockwise. Make sure end caps are fully seated.

Install the low one-way clutches as an assembly with the groove facing up.
1 The groove in the one-way clutch outer race must face up.
2 The one-way clutch outer race must rotate counterclockwise.
