Brake Caliper Anchor Plate

Removal and Installation

1. WARNING: If the vehicle is equipped with air suspension, the electrical power to the air suspension system must be shut off prior to hoisting, jacking or towing an air suspension vehicle. This can be accomplished by turning off the air suspension switch located in the luggage compartment. Failure to do so can result in unexpected inflation or deflation of the air springs, which can result in shifting of the vehicle during these operations.

Remove the wheel and tire assembly.





2. CAUTION: Do not allow the disc brake caliper to hang from the brake hose. Damage to the hose can result.

Remove the brake caliper bolts and remove the caliper.





3. Remove the brake pads and stainless steel slippers from the anchor plate.





4. Remove the guide pins and guide pin boots.
^ Check the guide pins for binding and damage.
^ Install new guide pins if worn or damaged.





5. Remove the bolts and the caliper anchor plate.
^ Discard the bolts.

6. CAUTION: Use the correct type and length bolts.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Install new anchor plate bolts.
