Vehicle Damage Warnings

CAUTION:
- Care must be taken to prevent scratching the pinch weld.
- After installing the urethane installed back window glass, the vehicle should not be driven until the urethane adhesive has cured. The curing time for Essex 400-HV at temperatures above 13°C (55°F) and relative humidity above 50% is 12-24 hours (refer to Essex drive away chart for cure times as temperature and humidity vary). Inadequate curing of the urethane adhesive will adversely affect the strength of the urethane adhesive bond.
- Make sure urethanes and primers have not gone beyond the shelf life printed on the containers. Lids should be re-installed after use to maximize actual shelf life, which may be less than what is indicated once lids or seals are removed.
- Wipe off the urethane glass prep immediately after each application because it flash dries. Apply deliberate strokes, making sure not to overlap the applied area.
- Open a window to prevent the back window glass from being pushed out by air pressure when the door is closed.
- Do not attempt to forcibly remove the rivets as damage to the front/rear door window glass will result.
- Prior to removing the rivet center pins, it is necessary to place a suitable block support between the door outer panel and the rear door window channel bracket to stabilize the rear door window glass during rivet removal.
- If the rear door window garnish moulding becomes kinked, it is no longer usable and a new moulding must be installed.
