Removal and Installation
1. Remove the radiator cover.
2. WARNING: Turn off the electrical power to the air suspension prior to hoisting, jacking, or towing an air suspension equipped vehicle. Failure to do so can result in unexpected inflation or deflation of the air springs, which can result in shifting of the vehicle during these operations. Failure to follow these instructions can result in personal injury.
Turn the air suspension switch OFF, if so equipped.
3. Remove the battery.
4. Disconnect each fluid cooler hose from the transmission fluid cooler, as necessary.
5. Position the vehicle on a hoist.
6. Remove the nut retaining the tube routing bracket to the A\C compressor.
7. Disconnect each fluid cooler tube from the transmission, as necessary.
8. Remove the bolt retaining the line routing bracket to the engine and remove the transmission fluid cooler tube(s).
9. NOTE: If the vehicle was equipped with a fluid filter, install a new filter.
Install a new inline transmission fluid filter kit or filter as required.
10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Fill the transmission to the correct level with MERCON V. Inspect for leaks.
