Compressor Fitting HVAC: Service and Repair

Installer Set, Teflon Seal:






SPECIAL TOOL(S)

REMOVAL

All vehicles
1. Recover the refrigerant.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.







3. Remove the lower radiator air deflector.
1 Remove the five screws. Remove the air deflector, if equipped.
2 Remove the seven screws and the lower radiator air deflector.







4. Disconnect the compressor manifold and tube assembly.
- Discard the O-ring seals.

5. Lower the vehicle.

Vehicles with CII power steering pump







6. Disconnect the power steering line.
- Discard the O-ring seal.







7. Remove the nut and detach the power steering line bracket.

Vehicles with CIII power steering pump
8. Remove the power steering pump pulley.







9. Disconnect the power steering line.
- Discard the O-ring seal.







10. Remove the nut and detach the power steering line bracket.

All vehicles







11. Using the special tool, install a new O-ring seal on the power steering pressure line fitting.







12. Remove the nut and detach the power steering line.







13. Disconnect the compressor manifold and tube assembly spring lock coupling.
- Discard the O-ring seals.







14. Remove the compressor manifold and tube assembly.
1 Disconnect the pressure cutoff switch.
2 Remove the bolt.
3 Remove the compressor manifold and tube assembly.
- Discard the O-ring seals.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install new A/C O-ring seals lubricated in clean PAG oil.
- Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of Clean PAG oil.

2. Evacuate, leak test and charge the A/C system.
