Fuel Injector Wiring Harness: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

WARNING: DO NOT SMOKE OR CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR ANY FUEL-RELATED COMPONENTS. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE MIXTURES ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND MAY BE IGNITED. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.

1. Remove the lower intake manifold.







2. Remove the harness retaining nut.







3. Unclip and disconnect the LH Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.







4. Disconnect the two coolant temperature sensor electrical connectors.







5. Disconnect the transaxle control and Digital Transaxle Range (DTR) sensor electrical connectors.







6. Loosen the bolt and disconnect the harness electrical connector.







7. Unclip the harness from the bracket.







8. Unclip the harness from the bracket.







9. Unclip and disconnect the knock sensor electrical connector.







10. Unclip and disconnect the Turbine Shaft Speed (TSS) sensor electrical connector.







11. Disconnect the power steering pressure sensor electrical connector.







12. Disconnect the Output Shaft Speed (OSS) sensor electrical connector.







13. Disconnect the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.







14. Unclip and disconnect the radio ignition noise suppressor, RH HO2S electrical connectors and disconnect the ignition coil electrical connector.







15. Disconnect the differential pressure sensor EGR electrical connector.







16. Loosen the bolt and disconnect the PCM electrical connector.







17. Remove the bolt and disconnect the PCM wiring harness ground strap from the cowl panel.







18. Disconnect the Vapor Management Valve (VMV) electrical connector.
19. Remove the RH wheel.







20. Remove the RH inner fender splash shield.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Remove the pin-type retainers.
3 Remove the splash shield.







21. Remove the front splash shield.







22. Remove the starter cable cover.







23. Remove the nut and disconnect the starter wiring.







24. Disconnect the A/C compressor and the high-pressure switch electrical connector.







25. Disconnect the alternator electrical connector.







26. Disconnect the LH catalyst monitor electrical connector.







27. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.

NOTE: The oil pressure sensor is located behind the rear of the A/C compressor. The compressor has been removed for clarity.







28. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor electrical connector.







29. Unclip and disconnect the RH catalyst monitor electrical connector and remove the fuel charging wiring harness.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
