Exhaust Manifold RHRemoval and Installation
1. Remove the wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft.
2. Remove the three retaining screws and the RH cowl top inner panel.
3. Remove the two retaining nuts and position the vacuum outlet manifold assembly aside.
4. Unseat the windshield wiper motor wiring harness grommet. Pull the wiring harness through the grommet.
5. Disconnect the cowl drain tube, remove the three retaining screws and the LH cowl top inner panel.
6. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.
7. CAUTION: When removing the spark plug wires a slight twisting motion will break the seal and ease removal.
Disconnect the spark plug wires from the ignition coil.
8. Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connector.
9. Remove the mounting screws and remove the ignition coil.
10. Disconnect the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) from the ignition coil bracket.
11. Disconnect the ground strap from the ignition coil stud.
12. Remove the retainer and the ignition coil bracket.
13. Remove the rear support brace.
1 Remove the bolt.
2 Remove the nut.
3 Remove the rear support brace.
14. Remove the steering gear heat shield.
15. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) tube.
16. Remove the dual converter Y-pipe.
17. Lower the vehicle.
18. Remove the nuts in the sequence shown and remove the exhaust manifold.
^ Discard the gasket.
^ Disconnect the oxygen sensor electrical connector.
RH:
19. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Position a new gasket and install the exhaust manifold nuts in the sequence shown.
