Lower Arm

Removal and Installation





1. WARNING: The electrical power to the air suspension system must be turned off prior to hoisting, jacking or towing an air suspension vehicle. Failure to do so can result in unexpected inflation or deflation of the air springs, which can result in shifting of the vehicle during these operations.

Turn the air suspension service switch oil.
2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.





3. NOTE: Use the holding feature to prevent the stud from turning while removing the nut.

Remove and discard the nut.





4. Remove the nut and the flag bolt.
^ Discard the nut.





5. CAUTION: Do not remove the cam bolt at this time or damage to the steering bellows boot will result.

Remove the nut.
^ Discard the nut.





6. Remove and discard the bolts.





7. Remove and discard the nuts.





8. Remove the studs and move the steering gear upwards to access the cam bolt.





9. Remove the cam bolt and the lower arm.

10. NOTE: Snug the lower arm pivot nuts and bolts. Do not tighten until the installation procedure is complete and the weight of the vehicle is resting on the wheel and tire assemblies.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
11. Check and, if necessary, align the front end.
