This article supersedes TSB 04-21-11 to update the calibration information and model coverage.
ISSUE
Some 2003-2004 Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis/Marauder, Town Car vehicles may exhibit a malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) on along with diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0460 stored in continuous memory.
ACTION
If DTC P0460 is the only code present, reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM) to the latest calibration using WDS release B35.7 or higher. Calibration files may also be obtained at the website. Do not replace any fuel level input (FLI) or fuel pump components.
If DTC P0460 is present with P0462 and/or P0463, reprogram the powertrain control module (PCM). If DTCs P0462 or P0463 are still present after reprogramming the PCM, follow normal diagnostics.
