Intake Manifold - Gasoline EnginesRemoval
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Drain the engine cooling system.
3. Remove the air cleaner and outlet pipe.
4. Disconnect the fuel spring lock coupling.
5. Remove the wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft.
6. Remove the accessory drive belt.
7. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
8. Disconnect the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.
^ Disconnect the pin-type retainer from the A/C compressor bracket.
9. Disconnect the Power Steering Pressure (PSP) switch electrical connector.
10. Disconnect the A/C compressor clutch electrical connector.
11. Disconnect the A/C compressor clutch electrical connector.
12. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
13. Disconnect the power steering electrical connector.
14. Lower the vehicle.
15. Disconnect the fuel charging wiring electrical connectors from the eight ignition coils.
16. Disconnect the fuel charging wiring electrical connectors from the eight fuel injectors.
17. Disconnect the accelerator cable, the speed control actuator cable, the throttle return spring and the cable retaining bolts.
18. Remove the cables from the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) tube heat shield and position out of the way.
19. Remove the bolts and the EGR tube heat shield.
20. Disconnect the electrical connector and the vacuum hose.
21. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve vacuum hose.
22. Disconnect the generator cable, the electrical connector and the harness location retainer.
23. Remove the bolts and the generator mounting bracket.
24. Disconnect the upper radiator hose.
25. Disconnect the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve and the Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connectors.
26. Disconnect the heater water hose.
27. Disconnect the EGR system module tube nut from the EGR system module.
28. Separate the fuel charging wiring pin-type retainer from the crash bracket.
29. Remove the cables from the crash bracket.
30. Remove the crash bracket bolt and prevent the bolt from contacting the cylinder head with a rubber band or tie strap.
31. Remove the stud.
32. Disconnect the vacuum hoses and remove the vacuum harness.
33. Remove the generator harness position retainer from the LH front stud.
34. Remove the fuel charging wiring pin-type retainer from the rear of the manifold.
35. Disconnect the ground wire connector from the RH rear stud.
36. Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor electrical connector.
37. Remove the bolts and the eight ignition coils.
38. Remove the bolts and the water outlet adapter.
39. Remove the water thermostat and discard the O-ring.
40. Remove the bolts and the intake manifold.
41. Remove and discard the intake manifold gaskets.
42. Clean the sealing surfaces.
