Rear Door Latch: Service and Repair

Heavy Duty Riveter:

SPECIAL TOOL(S)

REMOVAL
1. Remove the rear door trim panel.
2. Position the watershield aside.







3. Remove the rivets and position the interior door handle remote control aside.







4. Remove the lock rod bellcrank rivet.







5. Disconnect the lock rod from the lock rod bellcrank.







6. Release the lock rod from the clip.







7. Open the clip and release the exterior door handle actuating rod.







8. Disconnect the door ajar switch electrical connectors.







9. Disconnect the door lock actuator electrical connector.







10. Remove the door lock actuator rivet.







11. Remove the screws and remove the rear door latch.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Transfer parts as necessary.
