Front Door Window Glass: Service and Repair
Heavy Duty Riveter:
SPECIAL TOOL(S)
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Remove the front door trim panel.
3. Remove the screws and speaker.
^ Disconnect the electrical connector.
4. Remove the screws and position the Driver Door Module (DDM) aside.
5. Position the upper and lower water shields aside.
6. Remove the rivets and position the door latch remote control aside.
7. Remove the front door glass top run bolt.
8. Remove the inner belt line moulding.
9. Remove the nut and outer belt line moulding.
10. Position the front door glass run front retainer forward.
11. Connect the window control switch electrical connectors.
12. Connect the battery.
13. Lower the front door window glass to gain access to the rivets.
14. Remove the rivets.
CAUTION: Do not attempt to forcibly remove the rivets as damage to the front door window glass will result.
NOTE: Before removing rivets, it is necessary to place a suitable block support between the front door window channel bracket and the door outer panel to help stabilize the front door window bracket during rivet removal.
15. Disconnect the battery.
16. Remove the front door window glass.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Using the special tool, install the two spacers and two 1/4 inch rivets (use of 1/4 - 20 x 1 inch screw and washer assemblies and 1/4 inch - 20 nut and washer are optional). Tighten the nut (if used) to 13 Nm (10 lb-ft).
NOTE: If necessary, align the front door window glass with the front door window channel bracket.
