Front Door Latch: Service and Repair

Heavy Duty Riveter:

SPECIAL TOOL(S)

REMOVAL
1. Remove the front door trim panel.







2. Position the interior door handle aside.
1 Remove the rivet.
2 Slide the interior door handle forward and position it aside.
3. Position the watershield aside.







4. Disconnect the interior door handle cable guide.







5. Remove the window glass run channel bolt.







6. Remove the bolts and position the center window glass support aside.







7. Disconnect the exterior door handle actuating rod.
^ Open the locking clip.







8. Remove the lock rod from the lock cylinder.







9. Remove the door latch bolts.
10. Remove the front door latch, cable and interior door handle as an assembly.
^ Disconnect the electrical connector(s).
11. Transfer all the necessary components.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE: The special tool must be used to install the new rivet.
