Front Door Window Glass: Service and Repair

Heavy Duty Riveter:






SPECIAL TOOL(S)

REMOVAL
1. Remove the front door trim panel.







2. Position the water shield aside.
1 Remove the speaker.
2 Disconnect the driver door module.
3 Remove the pull strap handle.

NOTE: The water shield must be installed in the original position.







3. Remove the two door glass top run bolts.







4. Remove the inner belt line moulding.







5. Remove the outer belt line moulding.
6. Position the front door glass run front retainer forward.







7. Remove the rivets.

CAUTION: Do not attempt to forcibly remove the rivets as damage to the front door window glass will result.

NOTE:
^ Using the window control switch, lower the front door window glass to gain access to the two front door window channel bracket rivets.
^ Before removing rivets, it is necessary to place a suitable block support between the front door window channel bracket and the door outer panel to help stabilize the front door window bracket during rivet removal.







8. Remove the front door window glass.

INSTALLATION












1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Using the special tool, install the two spacers and two 1/4 - inch rivets (use of 1/4 - 20 x 1 inch screw and washer assemblies and 1/4 inch - 20 nut and washer are optional). Tighten the nut (if used) to 13 Nm (10 Lb-Ft).

NOTE: If necessary, align the front door window glass with the front door window channel bracket.
