Engine Control Module: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.







2. Position the power steering fluid reservoir to one side.







3. Remove the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) security shield.

NOTE: Drill out the steel rivets.







4. Disconnect the PCM electrical connector.







5. Remove the trim panel.







6. Remove the PCM.

INSTALLATION







1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

CAUTION: Make sure that the electrical connector locates correctly in the powertrain control module. Do not force or overtighten the electrical connector.
