Anti-Theft - Perimeter

1. Verify the customer concern by operating the system.


Visual Inspection Chart:






2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.
3. If an obvious cause for an obvious or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
4. If the diagnostic tool does not power up, refer to the diagnostic tool tester manual.
5. Carry out the DATA LINK DIAGNOSTIC TEST. If the diagnostic tool responds with:
^ CKT914, CKT915 or CKT70-ALL ECUS NO RESP/NOT EQUIP, refer to Module Communications Network (Information Bus).
^ NO RESP/NOT EQUIP for Hybrid Electronic Cluster (HEC), go to Pinpoint Test A.
^ System passed, retrieve and record the continuous Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), erase the continuous DTCs and carry out self-test diagnostics for the Central Security Module.

6. If the DTCs retrieved are related to the concern, go to HEC Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index.
7. If no DTCs related to the concern are retrieved, proceed to Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures

Self-Test
This module is equipped with a manually activated self-test. When self-test is activated the Central Security Module (CSM) will give visual and audible response every time an input is actuated.

To activate the self-test mode, press the hood switch seven times within six seconds. Once the CSM has entered self-test mode, the module will sound the horn and flash the turn signal lamps once to acknowledge the input. The following are inputs to the CSM that can be tested while the CSM is in self-test mode:
- Remote transmitter
- Hood switch
- Driver door entry switch
- Passenger door entry switch
- Liftgate entry switch
- Driver door lock motor set/reset switch
- Passenger door lock motor set/reset switch
- Liftgate anti-theft inhibit switch
- Integrated lock/unlock switches within power door lock actuator
