Disassembly and Assembly

DISASSEMBLY

All Vehicles







1. Remove the actuator.
1 Disconnect the actuating rod.
2 Disconnect the vacuum lines.
3 Remove the nuts.







2. Remove the actuator.
1 Disconnect the actuating rod.
2 Disconnect the vacuum lines.
3 Remove the nuts.







3. Remove the recirculation/fresh air vacuum control actuator.
1 Disconnect the connecting rod.
2 Remove the nuts.
3 Disconnect the vacuum line.
4 Remove the actuator.

4. Remove the vacuum line harness.







5. Remove the blend door motor.
1 Remove the four screws.
2 Remove the motor.







6. Remove the cover and heater core.







7. Separate the blower motor/evaporator housing.







8. Remove the evaporator core cover.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Remove the rubber seal.
3 Remove the nut and the cover.
- Unclip the vacuum hose.
- Disconnect the housing parts.

Vehicles with air conditioning







9. Remove the evaporator.







10. Remove the air baffle.







11. Remove the upper part of the blower housing.
1 Remove the metal clips (if equipped).
2 Release the eight retaining tabs.







12. Remove the blower motor resistor.







13. Separate the blower housing lower halves.
- Release the two retaining tabs.







14. Disassemble the blower upper housing.
1 Detach the seal.
2 Release the three retaining tabs.







15. Separate the housing.
1 Release the five retaining tabs.
2 Pull off the clip.







16. Disassemble the housing.
1 Pull out the air door control shafts (two shown).
2 Remove the three air doors.

ASSEMBLY







1. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.

NOTE: Secure the housing halves with additional clips as the retaining tabs can be damaged when the housing halves are disconnected.
