Accumulator HVAC: Service and Repair
SPECIAL TOOL(S)
REMOVAL
1. Reclaim the refrigerant.
2. Remove the radiator grille.
3. Remove the left-hand headlamp assembly.
4. Disconnect electrical connectors.
5. Using the special tool disconnect the upper tube from the suction accumulator to the A/C compressor.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
NOTE: Seal the tube and the connection with plugs.
6. Support the radiator with pins (left-hand side shown).
7. Raise and support the vehicle.
8. Remove the radiator splash shield.
9. Remove the radiator bracket (left-hand side only).
- Rotate the radiator bracket clockwise 90 degrees.
10. Detach the suction accumulator bracket from the subframe.
11. Remove the suction accumulator.
12. Remove the A/C cycling switch.
INSTALLATION
NOTE: Install new O-ring seals and coat them with refrigerant oil.
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Check the air conditioning system for normal operation.
