Muffler And Tailpipe

Removal
1. Raise and support the vehicle.

2. NOTE: Support the front and rear muffler with a suitable jackstand.





Remove the nuts.





3. Detach the front muffler exhaust hanger insulators.





4. Remove the front and rear muffler.
- Detach the rear muffler exhaust hanger insulators.

Installation

1. CAUTION: The hanger insulators are constructed of a special material. Use only the correct specification insulators.

NOTE: Check the hanger insulators for damage or fatigue. Install new insulators if required.





To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Lubricate the exhaust hanger insulators with MERPOL Lubricant D7AZ-19553-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M99B144-B.
