PARTS REQUIREMENTS

Parts Ordering Information

Parts will be direct shipped from the Van Dyke Assembly Plant through United American Freight Services. Dealers must call the Campaign Coordination Center at 1-800-325-5621 to order the transaxle. Call this number only after you have identified a vin match from OASIS and the Julian date code match from the list below. When calling for the exchange transaxle, be prepared to provide:

Dealer P&A code

Full Vehicle Serial Number (VIN)

8 digit serial number from transaxle

Transaxle part number (located on white aluminum tag on top of transaxle, driver's side of vehicle).

Engine / 2 Valve or 4 Valve (Taurus only)

Shifter location / Steering column or Floor mounted

Julian date code from the chain cover

Dealer R.O. #

Julian date code from the chain covers (see Attachment Ill for inspection location), Involved date codes:

DEALER PRICE

Transaxles are being shipped no charge to dealers during this program, under the National Exchange Program. Dealers are allowed to claim the standard $240 allowance, permitted under the Warranty and Policy Guidelines, for transaxle exchanges.

TRANSAXLE CORE RETURN

Follow the instructions included with each transaxle shipped from the Van Dyke Plant (United American Freight Services). Failing to return the core will result in a $750 core dealer charge.

Mark the chain cover, above the turbine shaft speed sensor, with the "control number" using a black "magic marker" or paint stick. The "control number" will be provided by the Campaign Control Center with the initial call, and will also be included on the paperwork accompanying the replacement transaxle.
