Parking Brake Cable: Adjustments

Special Tools:

Special Tool(s)

1. Make sure the parking brake is released.
2. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.





3. NOTE: Hold the rod while turning the adjustment nut.

Install the special tool. Turn the adjustment nut until the cable tension is 15.8 - 20.8 Kg (34 - 46 lbs.) .
4. Remove the special tool and lower the vehicle.
5. Lower the vehicle and check the operation of the parking brake.
6. Raise the vehicle and verify the cable is within specification using the special tool. Make sure there is no drag on the rear brakes.
