SPECIAL TOOL(S)
DISASSEMBLY
1. Prepare the vehicle for front seat cushion disassembly.
1 Disconnect the battery ground cable and wait at least one minute.
WARNING:
^ TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY, THE BACKUP POWER SUPPLY MUST BE DEPLETED BEFORE REPAIRING OR REPLACING ANY FRONT OR SIDE AIR BAG SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) COMPONENTS AND BEFORE SERVICING, REPLACING, ADJUSTING OR STRIKING COMPONENTS NEAR THE FRONT OR SIDE AIR BAG SENSORS, SUCH AS DOORS, INSTRUMENT PANEL, CONSOLE, DOOR LATCHES, STRIKERS, SEATS AND HOOD LATCHES.
^ TO DETERMINE LOCATION OF THE FRONT AIR BAG SENSORS, REFER TO AIR BAG SYSTEMS.
^ THE SIDE AIR BAG SENSORS ARE LOCATED AT OR NEAR THE BASE OF THE B-PILLAR.
^ TO DEPLETE THE BACKUP POWER SUPPLY ENERGY, DISCONNECT THE BATTERY GROUND CABLE AND WAIT AT LEAST ONE MINUTE. BE SURE TO DISCONNECT AUXILIARY BATTERIES AND POWER SUPPLIES (IF EQUIPPED).
2 Deactivate the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) and remove the driver seat.
WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY, READ AND FOLLOW ALL WARNINGS, CAUTIONS, NOTES AND INSTRUCTIONS IN THE SEAT REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURE.
NOTE: The supplemental restraint system (SRS) deactivation and reactivation has been incorporated as part of the seat removal and installation procedure.
2. Remove the seat backrest.
3. Remove the seat track.
4. Unclip the J-clips and remove the wire harness (if equipped).
5. Remove the seat cushion frame.
6. Position the upholstery then remove the hog rings (seven per side).
7. Remove the center hog rings.
8. Remove the upholstery from the pad.
ASSEMBLY
WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY, READ AND FOLLOW ALL WARNINGS, CAUTIONS AND NOTES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE DISASSEMBLY PROCEDURE.
1. Position the upholstery to the pad. Install the center hog rings.
2. Position the upholstery, then install the hog rings (seven per side).
3. Install the seat cushion frame.
4. Fasten the J-clips and install the wire harness (if equipped).
5. Install the seat track.
6. Install the seat backrest.
7. Restore the vehicle to operating condition.
1 Install the driver seat and reactivate the supplemental restraint system (SRS).

2 With all the restraint system diagnostic tools removed, prove out the supplemental restraint system (SRS).
WARNING: THE RESTRAINT SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC TOOL IS FOR RESTRAINT SYSTEM SERVICE ONLY. REMOVE FROM THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO ROAD USE. FAILURE TO REMOVE COULD RESULT IN INJURY AND POSSIBLE VIOLATION OF THE VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS.
3 Check the active restraint system for correct operation.
