Removal
1. Disconnect the fuel supply line.
2. Remove the upper intake manifold.
3. Remove both the valve covers.





4. Disconnect the engine control sensor wiring harness from the fuel injectors.





5. Remove the fuel injection supply manifold and fuel injectors as an assembly.
- Remove the four bolts.





6. Disconnect the heater hose and Coolant Temperature Sender (CTS).





7. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor and the degas bottle hose.





8. Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the thermostat housing.
9. Remove the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor.





10. Remove the lower intake manifold.
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove the manifold.





11. Remove the intake manifold gaskets and the end seals.


Installation





1. Clean all the sealing surfaces.





2. Apply a drop of silicone gasket and sealant at the four cylinder block-to-cylinder head seams.





3. Install the lower intake manifold gaskets and end seals.
- Position the intake manifold gaskets.
- Position the intake manifold end seals.





4. Install the intake manifold. Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown in two stages.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 15 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
- Stage 2: Tighten to 32 Nm (24 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor.





6. Connect the upper radiator hose.
- Connect the hose.
- Reposition the clamp.





7. Connect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor and the degas bottle hose.





8. Connect the heater hose and the coolant temperature sender (CTS).





9. Install the fuel injection supply manifold and fuel injectors as an assembly.
- Install the four bolts.





10. Connect the engine control sensor wiring harness to the fuel injectors.
11. Install both valve covers.
12. Install the upper intake manifold.
13. Connect the fuel line.
14. Fill and bleed the engine cooling system.
