Crankshaft Main Bearing: Service and Repair

Materials
Item: Super Premium SAE 5W-20 Motor Oil XO-5W20-QSP or equivalent
Specification: WSS-M2C153-H

Removal
1. Remove the oil pan.
2. If necessary, remove the oil pump.





3. CAUTION: The crankshaft main bearings must be inspected and replaced one set at a time or engine damage may occur.

Remove one crankshaft main bearing cap.





4. Remove the crankshaft main bearings


Installation





1. CAUTION: The crankshaft main bearings are precision fit.

CAUTION: The crankshaft main bearings must be lubricated with clean engine oil.

Install the crankshaft main bearing.





2. Install the crankshaft main bearing cap.
- Repeat the procedure until all the crankshaft main bearings are replaced.
4. If removed, install the oil pump.
5. Install the oil pan.
