Halfshaft Oil Seal





Removal





1. Remove the halfshaft.
2. Remove the differential seal (left-hand side shown, right-hand side similar).

Installation





1. Using the special tools, install the new differential seal.
^ Lubricate seal with MERCON(R) Multi-Purpose Automatic Transmission Fluid XT-2-QDX meeting MERCON(R) specification plus 2% Friction Modifier C8AZ-19BS46-A meeting Ford specification EST-M2C118-A. MERCON(R) Automatic Transmission Fluid is being replaced by MERCON(R) V as a service fluid, as per TSB 06-14-4.

2. NOTE: Always install a new driveshaft bearing retainer circlip.

Install the halfshaft.
