Pump Assembly
Disassembly
1. Remove the bolts.
2. Remove the valve body separator plates and gaskets.
3. Remove the check ball and note the location.
4. Remove the bolts and the pump cover.
5. WARNING: Use extreme caution when removing spring to prevent personal injury.
CAUTION: Place a piece of cardboard or a suitable material under a screwdriver to prevent damage to the housing gasket surface.
Remove the bore ring spring.
6. Remove the pump bore ring pin.
7. Remove the metal bore ring and support seal.
1 Remove the bore ring side seal (metal).
2 Remove the support seal (O-Ring).
8. Remove the pump bore ring radial seal and support.

2 Remove the pump bore ring radial seal support.
9. Remove the top pump vane support ring.
10. Remove the outer pump bore ring.
11. Remove the vanes.
12. Remove the rotor.
13. Remove the bottom pump vane support ring.
14. Remove the EPC, TCC solenoids and seals.
- Remove the bolts.
- Remove the EPC, TCC solenoids.
15. Note: The shift solenoids are interchangeable. Take note of the shift solenoid connector orientation.
Remove the shift solenoids by pressing locking tab with a screwdriver and rotating them.
Assembly
1. Note: Be sure the solenoids are locked in place by pressing down and rotating them.
Replace the O-rings and install the shift solenoids by pressing down and rotating them until they lock in place.
2. Replace the O-rings and install the EPC, TCC solenoids.
3. Install the bottom pump vane support ring.
4. Note: The counter bore area is where the pump shaft and mating splines pass through the rotor.
Install the rotor with the counter bore facing up.
5. Note: The shiny portion of the vane blade is installed outward toward the pump bore ring.
Install the pump vanes.
6. Install the pump body ring with the O-ring groove facing up.
7. Install the top pump vane support ring.
8. Install the pump bore ring radial seal and support.
1 Install the pump bore ring radial seal.
2 Install the pump bore ring radial seal support.
9. Install the metal bore ring and support seal.
1 Install the support seal (O-ring).
2 Install the bore ring side seal (metal).
10. Install the bore ring pivot pin.
11. CAUTION: Be sure the pump bore area is well cleaned. It is a hidden foreign material trap. Flow from the pump goes into the manual valve circuit, then passes into the EPC circuit. Pump pressure at this point is very high. Any foreign material not cleaned out here will be pumped through the transaxle on the first operation.
Install the pump bore ring spring between the case and the tab on the pump bore ring.
12. Note: Use the pump shaft to align the pump cover during installation.
Install the pump cover and bolts.
13. Install the check balls.
14. Install the separator plate and the gaskets.
15. Install the bolts.
16. Using the special tool, assemble the main control assembly.
17. Install the bolts.
