Fuel Injector Wiring Harness: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery.
2. Remove the cowl vent screen and the RH cowl extension.






3. Disconnect the engine control sensor wire harness ground connections.
^ Remove the bolt.







4. Disconnect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
^ Loosen the bolt.
5. Remove the upper intake manifold. For additional information, refer to Engine.







6. Disconnect the evaporative emissions (EVAP) canister purge valve electrical connector.







7. Disconnect the oxygen sensor electrical connector.







8. Disconnect the Injector Pressure Sensor (IPS) electrical connector.







9. Disconnect the fuel injectors.







10. Disconnect the generator electrical connectors.







11. Disconnect the A/C cutout switch electrical connector.







12. Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connector.







13. Disconnect the following electrical connectors:
1 Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP)
2 engine oil pressure sender
4 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECT)







14. Disconnect the Output Shaft Speed Sensor (OSS) electrical connector.







15. Disconnect the 42-pin engine harness connector, transmission solenoid connector and the transmission range sensor (TR) connector.
16. Raise the vehicle on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.







17. Disconnect the oxygen sensor electrical connectors.







18. Disconnect the A/C compressor clutch electrical connector.
19. Disconnect the starter motor. For additional information, refer to Starting System.
20. Lower the vehicle.







21. For flexible fuel engines, disconnect the secondary air induction electrical connector.
22. Remove the engine control sensor wire harness from the engine.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
