With Serviceable Evaporator Core Orifice






SPECIAL TOOL(s)

REMOVAL

1. Remove the condenser to evaporator line Refer to Condenser to Evaporator Line.







2. Pull back the protective cover.







3. Index mark the condenser to evaporator line. Disconnect the two halves of the condenser to evaporator line.







4. Inspect the evaporator core orifice for damage







5. Engage the special tool with the evaporator core orifice.







6. Holding the special tool T-handle stationary, rotate the special tool body to remove the evaporator core orifice.







7. Holding the special tool T-handle stationary, rotate the special tool body to remove the broken evaporator core orifice.

INSTALLATION







1. Install new O-ring seals on the evaporator core orifice.
- Lubricate the new O-ring seals with PAG Refrigerant Compressor Oil (R-134a Systems) F7AZ-19589-DA (Motorcraft YN-12-C), or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.







2. Position the evaporator core orifice in the special tool.







3. Using the special tool, install the evaporator core orifice.







4. Align the index marks. Connect the two halves of the condenser to evaporator line.







5. Position the protective cover over the evaporator core orifice connection.
6. Install the condenser to evaporator line. Refer to Condenser to Evaporator Line.
