Cable and Conduit - RH Rear
Removal and InstallationAll vehicles
1. Remove the right rear wheel and tire assembly.
2. Note: Hold the rod while turning the adjustment nut.
Slacken the parking brake cable.
3. Disconnect the RH rear parking brake cable and conduit.
4. Disconnect the LH rear parking brake cable and conduit.
5. Squeeze the retainer and remove the parking brake equalizer.
6. Note: The station wagon conduit and cable retainers are shown. The retainers for the four door are similar.
Squeeze the retainer and detach the RH rear parking brake cable and conduit from the body bracket.
Vehicles with drum brakes
7. Remove the brake drum.
8. Disconnect the parking brake cable.
9. Note: It is necessary to remove only the primary (front) brake shoe.
Remove the primary brake shoe.
10. Squeeze the retainer and pull the parking brake cable and conduit out of the brake backing plate.
Vehicles with disc brakes
11. Remove the parking brake cable and conduit.
1 Disconnect the cable.
2 Remove the E-clip and pull the cable and conduit out of the disc brake caliper.
All vehicles
12. Note: The station wagon cable and conduit retainer is shown. The retainer for the four door is similar.
Remove the bolt and the cable and conduit.
13. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Make sure the snap-in retainers are securely locked in place.
14. Carry out the Parking Brake Cable Adjustment.
