Canister Purge Control Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Partially drain the cooling system. For additional information, refer to Cooling System.







2. Disconnect the heater water hose.







3. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) return tube, EVAP canister purge outlet tube and the vacuum tube from the EVAP canister purge valve.

WARNING: DO NOT SMOKE OR CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR ANY FUEL RELATED COMPONENT. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE MIXTURES ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND MAY BE IGNITED, RESULTING IN POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.







4. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve electrical connector.







5. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve.
^ Remove the two nuts.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
