Removal

Removal
All Vehicles
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.





2. Center the steering wheel and lock in position.





3. Remove the steering column shaft to flexible coupling clamp plate bolt.
^ Remove the bolt and rotate the clamp plate to disengage.





4. CAUTION: When removing the floor seal do not damage the sealing clips.

Remove the floor seal.
1. Release the retaining clips.
2. Disconnect the upper retainer.





5. Support the radiator on both sides.
6. Slacken the front wheel nuts.
7. Raise and support the vehicle.
8. Remove the front wheels.





9. Remove the radiator splash shield.

Vehicles with 2.0L engine





10. Remove the splash shield.

Vehicles with 2.5L engine





11. Remove the splash shields.

All Vehicles





12. Detach the radiator support brackets.





13. Detach the bumper support brackets.





14. Detach the air conditioning condenser (if equipped).





15. Detach the heated oxygen sensor electrical wiring from the subframe.





16. Remove the front support insulator.
17. Remove the three way catalytic converter.

Vehicles with 2.0L engine





18. Remove the rear support insulator.





19. Remove the rear support insulator mounting bracket.

Vehicles with 2.5L engine





20. Remove the rear support insulator.





21. Remove the rear support insulator mounting bracket.

All Vehicles





22. Detach the stabilizer bar connecting links.
23. Using a suitable transmission jack, support the subframe assembly.





24. Remove the subframe retaining bolts.





25. Lower the subframe to gain access to the stabilizer bar retaining bolts.





26. Remove the stabilizer bar clamp bolts (two each side).
27. Remove the stabilizer bar.
