Throttle Body: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly and outlet tube.







3. Remove the engine cover.







4. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connector.
^ Remove the wiring retainer from the throttle body stud.







5. Remove the accelerator cable retaining clip.







6. Detach the accelerator cable from the bracket.
1 Rotate the quadrant.
2 Lift the cable out of the bracket.







7. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the quadrant.







8. Disconnect the speed control cable.







9. Remove the accelerator bracket.
1 Remove the bolts.
2 Detach the spring.







10. Remove the throttle body.

INSTALLATION












1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Clean the throttle body and intake manifold mating surfaces and install a new gasket.

NOTE: If scraping is necessary, do not damage gasket surfaces or drop material into the manifold.
