Wiper Motor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.

NOTE: Make sure that the wiper motor is in the park position.







2. Remove the the wiper arms.







3. Remove the cowl grille.
^ Remove the bolts.







4. Remove the cowl grille (continued).
1 Remove the rubber seal.
2 Remove the bolts.
^ Disconnect the air cowl grille at the disconnection point and remove it.







5. Remove the wiper motor with the linkage and disconnect the wiper motor electrical connector.







6. Mark the position of the linkage in relation to the mounting plate.







7. Remove the wiper motor from the mounting plate and linkage.
1 Remove the nut.
2 Remove the bolts.

INSTALLATION







1. Install the wiper motor on the mounting plate.







2. Position the linkage by the marking, bold it and tighten the nut.


NOTE: Make sure that the wiper motor is in the park position.







3. Install the wiper motor and linkage.

NOTE: Install the retaining bolt on the left hand side first.







4. Install the Cowl grille.
^ Install the air Cowl grille and join it together.
1 Tighten the bolts.
2 Install the hood pad.







5. Install the cowl grille (continued).







6. Install the the wiper arms.
^ Install the wiper arms and tighten the nuts fingertight.

NOTE: Make sure that the wiper motor is in the park position.






7. Install the wiper arms (continued).
8. Connect the battery negative lead.
9. Switch on the wipers and make sure that the wiper blades do not strike the cowl grille or the trim moulding.
