Diagnostic Flow Chart

- Know and understand the customer concerns
- Check the fluid level and condition
- Verify the concern by operating the vehicle
- Check for non factory installed items and verify correct installation
- Check the shift linkage adjustments
- Check TSBs for vehicle concerns
- Carry out quick test both KOER and KOEO
- Record all codes

NOTE: Before entering pinpoint tests, refer to the TSBs for CD4E concerns.

NOTE: Before entering pinpoint tests, the vehicle harness must be checked for continuity and shorts, and the powertrain control module must be checked for any concerns.

NOTE: If any non-transaxle DTCs appear, repair those DTCs first. They could affect the electrical operation of the transaxle. Record and erase codes from continuous memory after repairs have been carried out. After servicing any DTCs in the Quick Test, the Quick Test should be repeated.

NOTE: Check the EEC system wiring harness for correct connection, bent or broken pins, corrosion, loose wires, proper routing, proper seals, and their condition. Check the EEC sensors and actuators for physical damage.

If DTCs appear while performing the self-test, refer to the On-Board Diagnostic Trouble Code Description Chart for the appropriate repair procedure.
