Safety Belt Procedure After A Collision
SEAT BELT SYSTEMWARNING: All safety belt buckle assemblies including retractors, buckles, front safety belt buckle support assemblies (slide bar), if equipped, child safety seat tether brackets, if equipped and attaching hardware should be inspected after any collision. New safety belt assemblies should be installed unless a qualified technician finds the assemblies show no damage and operate correctly. New safety belt assemblies should also be installed where the safety belt assemblies not in use at the time of the collision, are inspected and damaged or incorrect operation is noted. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
WARNING: After any collision, the safety belt assemblies at all outboard seating positions which are equipped with Automatic Locking Retractors (ALR), (driver safety belt not equipped with ALR) must be checked by a qualified technician to make sure they function correctly in addition to any other safety belt system checks that are carried out. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
WARNING: A new safety belt and retractor assembly must be installed if the safety belt assembly ``Tell tale label" (located on the lap belt portion of the safety belt webbing at the outboard side of the lower safety belt anchor), is activated and the warning text on the label is visible. Failure to follow this instruction, may result in personal injury.
WARNING: In the event of an accident in which the air bag(s) have been deployed, all safety belts that were in use at the time of the accident must be removed and new safety belts must be installed. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury and component failure.
