Fuel Tank Mounting Straps: Service and Repair
REMOVALWARNING: DO NOT SMOKE OR CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR ANY FUEL RELATED COMPONENTS. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE VAPORS ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND MAY IGNITE. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS WILL RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.
1. Drain the fuel tank.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.
3. Remove the muffler/tailpipe assembly. For additional information, refer to Exhaust System.
4. Remove the centre exhaust heat shield.
5. Remove the stabilizer bar. For additional information, refer to Suspension.
6. Support the fuel tank with the Powertrain Lift.
CAUTION: When supporting the fuel tank, use a suitable packing material to prevent damage to the underside of the fuel tank.
7. Remove the two fuel tank support strap bolts.
1 Detach the ground cable.
2 Remove the fuel tank support strap bolts.
8. Remove the fuel tank support straps.
INSTALLATION

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
