Valve Cover: Service and Repair

Removal





1. Disconnect the solenoid valve electrical connector.





2. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation tube.





3. Remove the appearance cover.
1 Position the throttle cable to one side, and the speed control cable (if equipped).
2 Remove the eight bolts.
3 Remove the appearance cover.





4. Remove the spark plug wires.





5. Detach the upper part of the engine front cover.
1 Remove the four bolts.
2 Position the front cover to one side.





6. NOTE: Loosening sequence: From the outside inwards, working diagonally.

Remove the valve cover.
1 Position the throttle cable to one side, and the speed control cable (if equipped).
2 Remove the 10 bolts.
3 Remove the valve cover.

Installation











1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
