Special Tool:





Removal

CAUTION: If brake fluid is spilled on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.

1. Loosen the wheel nuts.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the wheel.





4. Detach the parking brake cable.
1 Pull back the parking brake lever.
2 Disconnect the cable from the parking brake lever.
3 Detach the cable clips.
4 Detach the cable.





5. Loosen the brake hose union.





6. Remove the brake caliper pin.
1 Remove the clip.
2 Remove the pin.





7. Remove the brake caliper.
1 Remove the bolt cover.
2 Remove the bolt.





8. NOTE: Cap the brake hose connection to prevent fluid loss or dirt ingress.

Disconnect the brake caliper from the brake hose.

Installation





1. CAUTION: If the pistons are retracted into the housing, brake fluid will be displaced from the master cylinder.

Fully retract the brake caliper piston.
1 Fully retract the piston.
2 Make sure the piston orienting mark is in the correct position so that the locator pin on the brake pad backplate locates correctly into the piston.





2. Loosely connect the brake hose to the caliper.





3. Install the brake caliper.
1 Install the bolt.
2 Install the bolt cover.





4. Pivot the caliper into anchor bracket and secure.
1 Pivot the caliper downwards.
2 Install the pin.
3 Install the clip.





5. Tighten the brake caliper brake hose union.





6. Install the parking brake cable.
1 Position the cable.
2 Secure the cable.
3 Pull back the parking brake lever.
4 Connect the cable to the parking brake lever.





7. Install the road wheels.
8. Bleed the brake system.
