Caliper Removal and Installation

Removal

CAUTION: If brake fluid is spilt on the paintwork, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.

1. Loosen the wheel nuts.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the wheel.





4. Loosen the brake hose union.





5. Remove the pad clip.





6. Detach the caliper.
1 Remove the bolt covers.
2 Remove the bolts.





7. Remove the outer brake pad.





8. Remove the inner brake pad.





9. NOTE: Cap the brake hose connection to prevent fluid loss or dirt ingress.

Disconnect the brake caliper from the brake hose.

Installation





1. CAUTION: If the pistons are pushed back into the housing, brake fluid will be displaced from the caliper.

Fully retract the caliper piston.





2. Loosely connect the brake hose to the caliper.





3. CAUTION: Make sure that the disc faces are clean before installation.

Install the inner brake pad.





4. Install the outer brake pad.





5. Install the caliper.
1 Install the bolts.
2 Install the bolt covers.





6. Install the brake pad clip.





7. Tighten the brake hose union.





8. Install the wheel.
9. Bleed the brake system.
