Without Air Conditioning

REMOVAL
1. Remove the upper intake manifold.







2. Disconnect the Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) actuator electrical connector.







3. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector.







4. Disconnect the retainer and detach the wiring harness.







5. Disconnect the fuel charging wiring harness main in-line electrical connectors and detach the clips.







6. Disconnect the following electrical connectors.
1. Ignition coil.
2. Radio capacitor.







7. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor and camshaft position sensor electrical connectors (accessory drive belt removed for clarity).
8. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.







9. Disconnect the engine oil pressure switch electrical connector.
10. Lower the vehicle.







11. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor electrical connector.







12. Detach the fuel charging wiring harness.







13. Disconnect the six fuel injector electrical connectors.







14. Remove the seven wiring harness retainers and remove the fuel injection wiring harness.


INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE: When installing the six fuel injector electrical connectors, begin at the front of the engine, and install sequentially working toward the rear.
