Alternator: Description and Operation

All types of generators are solidly mounted to the engine and are driven at approximately twice the engine speed.

A voltage regulator senses the output voltage and regulates this to a maximum of 14.8 volts at all times.

Generators should be repaired as an assembly and not dismantled for repair.
