Fuel Tank Mounting Straps: Service and Repair

WARNING: DO NOT SMOKE OR CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR ANY FUEL RELATED COMPONENTS. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE VAPORS ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND MAY IGNITE. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.

REMOVAL
1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.







2. Detach the exhaust hanger insulators.







3. Remove the exhaust hanger insulators.
1. Support the exhaust system.
2. Remove the hanger insulators.







4. Remove the center exhaust heat shield.







5. Detach the stabilizer bar clamps and links.







6. Support the fuel tank.

CAUTION: When supporting the fuel tank, use a suitable packing material to prevent damage to the underside of the fuel tank.







7. Remove the fuel tank support strap bolts.
8. Partially lower the fuel tank.







9. Remove the stabilizer bar.







10. Remove the fuel tank support straps.

INSTALLATION







1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
