Fuel Pressure Regulator: Service and Repair

WARNING: DO NOT SMOKE OR CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR ANY FUEL RELATED COMPONENTS. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE VAPORS ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND MAY IGNITE. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.

REMOVAL
1. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
2. Disconnect the fuel return hose spring lock coupling.







3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator.







4. Remove the fuel pressure regulator and pipe assembly.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Install a new pressure regulator O-ring seal.







1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Lubricate the fuel pressure regulator O-ring seal with clean engine oil, XO-10W30-QSP or DSP or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C-153-F, to aid installation.
