Installation
1. Preparatory operations
Note: Do not damage the mating faces.
^ Clean the mating faces from old scaler.
^ Two studs, M6 x 20-screw them in to guide the oil pan.
Note: The mating faces must be free of oil and gasket residue. Clean the oil pan using solvent to remove any oil residue or sludge.
2. Note: Install the oil pan within 10 minutes after applying the sealer.
Apply a 3 mm bead of silicone gasket and sealant to the mating face of the oil pan.
3. Note: Tightening sequence.
Install the oil pan and screw in the drain plug with a new oil seal (shown at removed engine).
^ Tighten the bolts in indicated sequence shown in two stages:
^ Stage 1: 6 Nm
^ Stage 2: 10 Nm
4. Install the Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC).
^ Guide the TWC onto the exhaust manifold studs and into the exhaust.
1. Attach the TWC to the bracket.
2. Connect the H02S electrical connector.
3. Hook the TWC into the rubber mounting.
4. Connect the TWC to the exhaust.
Note: The TWC must be up against the exhaust manifold.
5. Secure the retaining clip for the TWC and install in the bolt.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Attach the TWC to the exhaust manifold.
7. Install the heat shield.
Insert the oil level indicator tube into the cylinder block and position the coolant hose bracket and the engine lifting eye in installation position.
1. Screw in the upper bolt/nut.
2. Install the lower bolts.
3. Install the bracket to the Air Conditioning (A/C) line.
8. Fill with engine oil.
^ Refer to Specifications for fill quantity and required type of oil.
9. Note: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy. Connect the battery ground cable.
10. Check the fluid levels and correct as necessary.
11. Check the routing of the vacuum hoses and wiring-and secure them with Cable ties .
