Special Tools:






Removal

CAUTION: If brake fluid is spilt on the paint work, the affected area must be immediately washed down with cold water.

1. Loosen the wheel nuts.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the wheel.





4. Disconnect the parking brake cable.
1 Pull back the parking brake ]ever.
2 Disconnect the cable from the parking brake lever.
3 Detach the conduit retaining clip.
4 Detach the cable and conduit.





5. Disconnect the brake pad wear sensor electrical connector (if equipped).





6. Detach the brake pad wear sensor electrical connector (if equipped).





7. Loosen the brake hose union.





8. Remove the caliper guide pin.
1 Remove the clip.
2 Remove the pin.





9. Remove the caliper.
1 Remove the bolt cover.
2 Remove the bolt.





10. Disconnect the caliper from the brake hose.
Plug the brake hose.

Installation

NOTE: After installation, bleed the brake system.





1. Using the special tool, fully retract the caliper piston.
1 Fully retract the piston.
2 Make sure the piston location mark is in the correct position so that the locator pin on the brake pad backplate locates correctly into the piston.





2. Loosely connect the brake hose to the caliper.
Remove the brake hose plug.





3. Install the caliper.
1 Install the bolt.
2 Install the bolt cover.





4. Install the caliper pin.
1 Install the pin.
2 Install the clip.





5. Attach the brake pad wear sensor electrical connector (if equipped).








6. Connect the brake pad wear sensor electrical connector (if equipped).








8. Install the parking brake cable.
1 Install the cable and conduit.
2 Secure the cable retaining clip.
3 Pull back the parking brake lever.
4 Install the cable to the parking brake lever.
