Front Door Latch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the door trim panel.






3. Peel back the watershield.

CAUTION: Do not touch the adhesive surface as re-bonding will be imp aired.







4. Disconnect the lock cylinder actuator rod.







5. Disconnect the door handle actuator rod.
1. Rotate the clip through 90 degrees.
2. Disconnect the actuator rod.







6. Disconnect the electrical connector.







7. Remove the latch screws.







8. Remove the latch.







9. Disconnect the cable from the latch.
1. Detach the cable from the latch.
2. Rotate the cable.
3. Disconnect the cable.

INSTALLATION







1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
