Spindle: Service and Repair

Special Tools:






REMOVAL
1. Remove the wheel hub.
2. If equipped with drum brakes, remove the brake backing plate.





3. If equipped with disc brakes, remove the bolts and remove the rear wheel disc brake shield.





4. If equipped with anti-lock brakes, remove the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) sensor bracket bolt.





5. Remove the lower strut and spring assembly nuts and bolts.





6. If equipped with anti-lock brakes, remove the bolt and the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) sensor.





7. Remove the rear suspension derailing link bolt.





8. Remove the rear suspension arm and bushing (rear) (A) nut and (B) (front) bolt and remove the rear wheel spindle.

INSTALLATION




















1. NOTE: Use High Lift Transmission Jack to raise the spindle so that the suspension arms are parallel to the ground before tightening the bolts to the specified torque.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
